Atelier Versace would present Pieter Mulier's debut couture collection during Paris Couture Week, scheduled from 25 to 28 January in the French capital, according to WWD. The house stated in a release that « la date et le lieu de l'événement seront annoncés en temps voulu ».

Atelier Versace reportedly held its last dedicated show in July 2016, while maintaining a couture presence through private orders and red-carpet appearances. Pieter Mulier, who officially joined Versace on 1 July, has already unveiled a first Atelier Versace look worn by Nicole Kidman at the premiere of « Practical Magic 2 » in Los Angeles on 31 August.

This debut would mark, according to WWD, the first visible signal of the brand's new direction since its acquisition by Prada Group last year. Patrizio Bertelli, chairman and executive director of the group, said that the two companies shared « une forte volonté de créativité, d'artisanat et d'héritage », with the goal being to « poursuivre l'héritage de Versace en célébrant et réinterprétant son esthétique audacieuse et intemporelle ».

Andrea Guerra, the group's chief executive officer, who presented nine-month results last week, said that the integration of Versace was heading « dans la bonne direction », adding that the team was starting « à voir à quoi ressembleraient les collections » and saying he was « très satisfait jusqu'à présent ».
