YKK will present zipper products designed for repair and recycling at the Textile Exchange Conference 2026, taking place from 12 to 16 October at the Vancouver Convention Center, Canada, with main sessions running from 13 to 15 October.
The Japanese zipper manufacturer will exhibit there for the second consecutive year. L'événement is organised by Textile Exchange, an international non-profit organisation that promotes climate action and resource circularity in the fashion and textile industries. YKK has been a member of this organisation since September 2020.
Among the products presented, the « Revived » renewal components are replacement parts intended to extend the life of garments through repair. The Natulon and Natulon Fiber Sourced ranges use components with recycled content. For fibre-to-fibre recycling, the company will show Natulon Plus, featuring open parts made from recycled PET.
YKK is also taking part in the Recycled Polyester Challenge, an industry-wide initiative co-organised by Textile Exchange and the Convention-cadre des Nations unies sur les changements climatiques through its Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. Companies committed to this programme have set themselves a target of 45 to 100 percent recycled polyester in their sourcing by fiscal year 2025.
According to YKK, recycled polyester already accounted for at least 45 percent of its polyester use during fiscal year 2024, a share that should reach 50 percent during fiscal year 2025. L'entreprise said it will continue to increase this share across all its products.
In Vancouver, YKK will also present initiatives falling under its « YKK Sustainability Vision 2050 ». L'entreprise said it wants to use the conference to strengthen collaboration with brands and supply chain partners.
