Greybull Stewardship announced, on October 15, the acquisition of Mid-West Textile, according to WWD.
Founded in 1982, Mid-West Textile is based in El Paso, Texas. L'entreprise collects, sorts and grades used clothing and textiles for resale and other uses, serving second-hand retailers, vintage shops, fiber recovery operators and industrial rag suppliers. Its website lists Thrift Town stores in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio and Richardson, Texas, as well as in Albuquerque, Nouveau-Mexique.
Mason Myers, founder and PDG of Greybull, welcomed the deal in a statement: « Mid-West Textile has built a leading business around extending the life of used textiles and clothing, and we are excited to support the company in its next phase of growth, including expanding its Thrift Town retail stores in the years ahead. » He added that he sees a significant opportunity to continue partnering with established companies that provide the infrastructure and expertise needed to collect, process and give textiles a second life, as consumers, businesses and communities increasingly seek to reduce waste.
This acquisition is part of a broader strategy. In 2023, Greybull had acquired Reclaimed Cleaning Textiles, whose operations include World Wear Project. The latter company, operating under the name RTCM Holdings, had acquired United-Southern Waste Material, based in Dallas, in January 2025. At the time, RTCM had indicated that this deal would aim to expand its capacity and support a goal of diverting 100 million pounds of textiles from landfills each year.
The financial terms of the Mid-West Textile acquisition were not disclosed. L'annonce did not specify plans to combine Mid-West with RTCM, nor Mid-West's annual processing volume.
Prochaines steps
Greybull plans to expand Mid-West Textile's Thrift Town stores, without specifying how many new outlets are being considered or where they might open.
