Bruno Pavlovsky, president of fashion activities at Chanel and president of Chanel SAS, is said to have been appointed co-chair of The Fashion Pact, according to FashionUnited France. He would thus join the organisation's current executive members, Óscar García Maceiras, chief executive officer of Inditex, and Paul Polman, co-founder of the coalition.
Launched in 2019 at the initiative of President Emmanuel Macron, The Fashion Pact brings together fashion and textile companies around shared environmental goals. Dès 2020, the coalition brought together 60 executives representing more than 200 brands in 14 countries.
A renewed steering committee
The coalition is also said to have appointed Ermenegildo « Gildo » Zegna, executive chairman of the Ermenegildo Zegna group, and Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld, to its steering committee. These appointments come as part of the renewal of The Fashion Pact's governance.
At the same time, the organisation reportedly thanked Gerald J. Corbae, chief executive officer of NoaBrands, and Laurent Milchior, chairman and chief executive officer of Groupe Etam, who are leaving the steering committee as part of its rotation process. Gerald J. Corbae would continue to attend meetings in an advisory capacity, without voting rights, while Laurent Milchior would remain involved to represent smaller companies.
The Fashion Pact said, in a post, that « la nomination de Bruno marque une étape importante dans ce parcours, apportant un leadership et une vision précieuse alors que nous œuvrons à renforcer la collaboration entre les régions, les modèles économiques et les chaînes d'approvisionnement ».
These latest appointments reportedly come as the organisation looks ahead to 2027, with a heightened ambition to implement and scale up solutions across the sector.
